John Calvert, son of Thomas Calvert of Drumgor, Segoe, County Armagh, Ireland,
and Jane his wife, was born 8mo 6th 1648, in Stranmillis, near Belfast; was
married 3mo 29, 1673, at the house of Roger Webb, to Judith Stamper, dau of Hugh
Stamper and Bridget, his wife, of Lurgan, County Armagh. Judith Stamper was born
3mo 12, 1652, at ;bowlton wood', County Cumberland, England.
John moved with his family about 1683 to Pa, and settled in Upper Providence,
now Del Co, where he owned 300 acres. An adjoining tract of 300 acres was also
granted at the same time for Thomas Calvert, the father, who probably did not
come to this country.

1) Ruth b 9mo 2, 1674, at Lurgan Ireland; ;ma ca 1697 Edward Pavior, of Upper
Prov.
2) Isaac b 9mo 2, 1676, at Lurgan
3) Thomas bl 9mo 27, 1678 at Lurgan, bought a lot in Chester, in 1700 and sold
it in 1702
4) Joshua b 8mo 18, 1680 at Lurgan. was constable of Upper Providende in 1704. m
1709, Deborah dau of Geo. and Elizabeth Harlan, and is thought by Gilbert Cope
to have been the parents of Thomas Calvert, who married Sarah Williamson, ca
1739, lived in Edgmont.
5) Daniel b 5mo 6, 1685 in Pa; m ca 1709 Elizabeth P5richett
6) Mary b 12mo 19, 1687, in PA
7) Judith m 10mo 8, 1725, Daniel Broom, of Marple, now Del Co.
