Nicholas Fairlamb
Nicholas Fairlamb, "hath lived and belonged to our meeting the time of his apprentisship and since he hath been loose from his Mr; (master) being sevean years hath behaved himself orderly and honestly." From MM at Stockton, Co of Durham, England, dated 6 m 13, 1700. Received 9 m 29, 1700. (this last date is the date he presented his certificate to the new meeting. When one was a Quaker, one had to take a certificate, such as this one, to the new meeting he planned to attend...it was sort of a report on the person, and Nicholas was deemed okay to be recommended to the new meeting. ( I checked the Philadelphia Quakers but found nothing further on Nicholas beyond his presenting his certificate to the meeting)
"Nicholas Fairlamb, of the township of Middletown, in Del, Co, Pa, son of Frederick Fairlamb of the same place, and Mary, his wife; ; and Mary, dau of Nathaniel Walter and his wife Mary , both deceased, at the Concord meeting deceased 14 12m 1808 in a public meeting at Concord".
New Garden meeting records...."Elizabeth d of Nicholas and Katharine, of Chester, was b 1711-9 and married John Hurford
